A DOG at the education bureau
I went to the Addis Ababa Education Bureau in order to find some documents related to primary school education and an amusing thing happened.
I was looking for the office library and I found a girl on the way and asked her to show me the place. She pointed to the far end and told me that it is on the left side. In addition she told me that there is a DOG and I had to be careful not to get bitten. I was surprised as to why a dog would be kept at the door of the education bureau library. Then I continued moving warily and another lady again informed me about the dog biting a boy who came to get his lost report card. Her advice to me was to phone the library from some other office and ask them to escort me. She also remarked “this dog should be locked”. As to me I do not know why there should be a dog in the first place

This is hilarious.
I remember that there were some wild dogs at Teferi Mekonnen High school as well. Whenever I went there, the first thing on my mind was the dogs.

Lol. This is the funniest post i’ve read by Ethiopians so far. About a year ago, i took my husband to the Ministry of Education to have his school documents from the states authenticated. I hesitated before approaching the door because I had no business being there, except to escort him. There was this bored looking guard who waved both of us through while eyeing the nut-selling young man with suspicion and a general “geba wota” I can neither make head or tail for. It’s as if the place doesn’t have an owner. Which may have been the case with the dog too!
